Outreach — Private Equity Operating Partners
A portfolio-value outreach track. We are not selling to the fund. We are giving the operating partner a repeatable EBITDA lever they can push across every B2B SaaS company they own.
Who we're targeting
Operating partners, value-creation leads, and portfolio executives at technology-focused PE firms — the people who work directly with the CTOs and CPOs inside portfolio companies to hit margin and growth targets. They don't buy software for themselves. They standardize plays that move EBITDA across 10–40 portfolio companies at once.
That makes them a different buyer from our usual CTO / CPO. The product is the same; the frame is portfolio margin, not a single product roadmap.
The three KPIs we lead with
The operating partner's job is enterprise value. We map directly to the three levers they already model:
- Margin & profitability — lower cost to serve. The Product Agent resolves user requests inside the live product instead of routing them to a person. That bends the customer-success and support cost curve down, so a portfolio company can scale accounts without scaling headcount linearly. This is the lever that hits the P&L fastest.
- Lower churn — agentified onboarding. Activation is the leading indicator of retention. When the first session delivers the outcome the user came for instead of a checklist, day-1 and day-7 retention move, and gross revenue retention follows. Proof: MixMax day-1 retention ~57% → ~90%; Qonto feature activation 8% → 16%.
- Higher stickiness — the data flywheel. Every interaction is explicit intent + outcome data that makes the product smarter for the next user. That compounds switching cost over the hold period — the product gets harder to rip out the longer it's used. Stickiness is what protects the multiple at exit.
The throughline for this buyer: implementation in days, not quarters, with one customer resource — so the lever shows up in portfolio P&Ls inside a single quarter, not a multi-year build.
What to avoid in this track
- Don't pitch the fund on the technology category. Pitch the operating partner on a repeatable, portfolio-wide margin play.
- Don't lead with "deflection" — frame it as cost to serve and gross margin, which is how this buyer models it.
- Keep modules forward-looking: Conversational Analytics and Trust Lab are early access.
- No "agentic transformation," no "production-ready," no "AI-powered." This buyer is allergic to category language; they respond to EBITDA math.

Email — lead: cost to serve
Subject: a margin lever for your SaaS portfolio
[Name],
Most of your B2B SaaS companies grow customer-success and support headcount in step with accounts. That caps gross margin.
An agentic interface layer changes the math. Users say what they want and the product does it inside the live app, so a portfolio company scales accounts without scaling the CS team linearly. It goes live in days, with one customer resource, so the lever shows up in the P&L the same quarter.
Worth comparing notes on where it fits across the portfolio?
Best, Mickey
Email — lead: churn / retention
Subject: the retention lever upstream of churn
[Name],
Churn shows up at renewal, but it's set at activation. If a user doesn't reach the outcome they came for in the first session, the renewal is already at risk.
We put an agentic layer in front of the existing product so the first session delivers the result, not a checklist. In deployments that's moved day-1 retention from the high-50s to ~90%. Across a portfolio, that's gross-retention points, not a UX tweak.
Open to walking through where activation breaks in a couple of your companies?
Best, Mickey
Email — lead: stickiness / enterprise value
Subject: stickiness that protects the exit multiple
[Name],
The products that hold their multiple at exit are the ones that got harder to rip out over the hold period.
Every interaction with the agent is explicit intent-and-outcome data that makes the product smarter for the next user. That compounds switching cost the longer it's used — stickiness you can point to in diligence. Same layer also lowers cost to serve and lifts activation, so it reads across all three of your value-creation levers.
Worth a short call on how it standardizes across the portfolio?
Best, Mickey
